The Rain Collective was formed in 2003. Many members of the Rain Collective began a collegial relationship with one another in the 1980’s and ‘90’s while working in studios at the 700 Building (North Washington Avenue) in the Warehouse District of Minneapolis. The 700 Building was the first Art Space project initiated in the 1980’s. In 2004 nineteen artists came together as the Keg House Collective and a majority of us maintained studios in the Keg House Arts Building until May of 2007.
In June of 2007, a large contingent of our members moved into the Casket Arts Building on 17th Avenue NE in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The other members maintain studios throughout the city. Collective artists work in the disciplines of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, installation, and collaborative works, as well as teaching. We changed our name to Rain Collective in celebration of this new location.
We endeavor to inspire and support one another in both individual and group artistic pursuits. Collective artists show regularly as a whole, and individually and in small groups throughout the region. Please review our Calendar of Events for further information.
We welcome you to our web site and hope you will return many times. Please use our Guest Registry to contact us. We invite you to join us at any of our exhibits or make an appointment with any individual artist to view the artwork first hand.
