ARTIST STATEMENT:
Motherhood has bestowed greater depth to my psycho-spiritual exploration with the human figure. My self portraits and paintings of my two sons are inspired by the questions I have been asking since early childhood – Why are we here? Who am I? Who are you? I attempt to peel away our exterior to expose the subconscious emotions. My paintings portray the evolution from the untainted innocent child to the self-conscious adolescent and mature adults as we search for our identity.
