ARTIST STATEMENT:

Although I have lived in Minneapolis most of my life, I have always attributed my love of big skies and distant horizons to having been born in Kansas.  My strong feeling for these landscapes influenced my earliest paintings and continues to inform my new passion, photography.  There is always a horizon line in my images, no matter how subtle.

I find the line dividing earth and sky tangible and intangible, compelling and burdensome, at the same time.  It is the theme of all my work because it is part of me.  It is perfect and imperfect, absolute and endless and, for me, the essence of life.  I want to hold it, drink it, capture it, absorb it and be it, to my very bones.
